    Default Plant Design Application

    Can anybody help in plant design aplication using Revit MEP. I want to know how to creat ducts of different shapes, equipment shapes etc. Please help

    You can model rectangular and round ducts only- duct is a system family.

    Do they not do oval duct in Revit MEP?
    We rarely use it, but I was curious if they did away with it or kept it.

    Ah! I see.
    I've not used any version of R-MEP, so I didn't know the history.

    So what do you all do if you need an oval duct?

    Fake it with rectangular duct and a different tag. Of course, it isn't really BIM at that point, is it?

    Interesting.
    Does kinda kill the point of BIM and clearance checking and automatic sections and calculations....etc.
    Is there a way to make an oval system, or has anyone tried that?

    If money no object, buy MAP/TSI cad-duct. They have oval duct. They can import revit mep files now.
