    Default STC and Links

When I save to central 25% of the time, it unloads my links. After the save I have to go to manage links and reload them.
Sometimes I get a error message that says all my space tags have no room bounding, well no kidding, BC revit just unloaded my links.

They are loaded on the central file.

    Any ideas?

I find this happens when you change the location and/or update the link after it has been linked. It takes a few opens/STCs for it to "cement" the link into the project.

Try using "save locations", but that doesn't always work for some reason....

Oh ya. i know what you mean about the saved locations.

The Architect updates their backgrounds every 49 seconds, so that won't change.

For how random it is, it doesn't make sense. I can't recreate the error. It just happens.

Are you trying to say, "It's Glitchy"?

We have had this happen before too.

I would stay away from the reload method and make sure the ARCH [workset] is OPEN. Reloading linked model with worksharing enabled can cause issues when trying to save to central.

Also tell the other users never to unload a link, but rather close the workset.

Do you put the linked models on there own worksets?
Ours have always been on workset1.

That is exactly how we do it. After I update the link, everyone working on the project reloads the new models.
    Does reload latest updated links?
Do we have to shut down, reopen Central and create new local?
    What is the best practice?

In the event that we need to turn off the link, we do it through revit links in VG.

    Thanks

We put all linked models on their own workset.

We also use non editable worksets and element borrowing, instead of editable worksets. Essentially to unload the link all we need to do is close the workset.

    That's an interesting approach.
    I'm definitely trying that.
    Thanks
