Default ACAD 2010: dwgs automatically open in pspace

I am just getting ready to finally roll out Acad 2010, but there is one little bug I need to fix first. Its seems not matter what, dwgs always open up to a pspace layout tab, even if they were last saved / closed on model space. This isn't the end of the world if I cannot fix this, but it is really annoying.

AutoCAD 2010 does not do that OOTB. It must be some form of customization.

Its nothing I have done....or know I did. Do you know of any sysvar or setting that might cause this?

How are you opening them? From Windows Exploder? From Acad "Open" dialog? From Acad SSM?

It happens no matter how you open this files. I just discovered that this is a setting saved in the defualt workspace I have setup. I just resaved my workspace while in model space, and now all files open up to model space regardless of where they were saved last.

Ah, so you are modifying a workspace from the AutoCAD interface and saving the workspace form there, reather than in the CUI interface.

When you do it that way (which you must to save toolbar locations) the CUI stores the current model/layout tab and reactivates that tab when restoring the workspace. Alter that behavior by using the CUI editor and modify the workspace's Start On option to "Do not change".

(So you did have "some form of customization" as I initially mentioned!)

Wow, I kind of followed along on this one since I'd never heard of that happening. Learned me something new today!
