Has autodesk provided instructions on how to effectively use the part reference tags to drive item creation?
We have a substantial amount of legacy ACADM data that I am trying to leverage.
The inventor models and assemblies work just fine in VM2010.
The move to Inventor is slow because time restrictions on replacing existing 2-d data with inventor data.
The parts and features in the predefined content area produces part reference tags that produce undesirable results. I now have items in my database that are based upon autodesk part names and descriptions.
I really like the part and assembly relationships that are created in VM2010 with ACADM. The feature enables us to track "as built" conditions. The structure will also help us as we transition to inventor based designs.
I previously used Cyco Meridian with their BOM module at another company. I like the integration of the VM2010 product better. However, the clean up work that I have to do is killing productivity and a lot of questions are being asked regarding the benefits.
I believe that my reseller partner has done about all they can do to support me on this issue.
Autodesk, can you help me out?
