Default How to know when someone has edited styles

    Here's my question:

I have templates in a read only folder. However once a user access them saveas them as their file they are free to modify the styles as they'd like.

How do I stop it or atleast be notified it happened without opening every CAD file and check every style for an edit date?

I think the only way would be to create a routine to go through all of the styles and get the ModifiedBy and DateModified properties of the labels. I'm not sure if I've seen anything out there that does what you are looking to do.

I don't think there is any way to prevent anybody from modifying styles in drawings after they create one from the template, unless there is a way to lock the styles within the drawing itself. I also don't think it is necessary to prevent anybody from doing this. All of the projects in our office have unique situations that do require some custom tweaks to the styles that we have set up. The only thing I try to prevent is people changing the template file itself.

Here's the basic idea on how to do it, it all depends on how fancy you want to get.
