I am trying to explain some of the details of Object Styles to users, and I find myself explaining that because of how Revit works (that some things can be cut and some can't) there is automatically cut settings for ALL subcategories of categories that CAN be cut, but some of those sub-categories in fact can't be cut, and so those particular settings are actually moot. And the same is true for some sub-categories that actually can ONLY be seen when cut, but have projection settings that are ignored by Revit. This would be so much more intuitive if the dialog grayed out those settings, like they do for the whole Category that can't be cut. But all that said, I am not convinced this is all in fact true. So, anyone have any corraborating or contradicting information on the following issues?
* Hidden Lines Cut representation: I am pretty sure this setting in Object Styles actually does nothing, and is simply there as a byproduct of how Revit works internally.
* Door Opening Cut representation: As above, the setting in Object Styles is ignored.
* Roof and Floor Interior Edges: This only applies in Plan where the break in plane shows up. In sections this gets ignored.
* Stairs Beyond Cut Line and Stringers Beyond Cut Line: These Categories don't ever apply in a section, and the Section Cut representation doesn't apply in Plan, as this is just a 2D abstraction and the Projection settings are used.
Thanks!
