Default AUTOCAD MEP 2010 FONT ISSUE

So my office (a MEP firm) is in the process of upgrading from MEP 08 to MEP 2010 and I'm know running into a font issue. The issue is that it appears that open style true-type fonts are no longer supported by MEP. I was wondering if anyone else was running into this problem and if they found a solution to it. It also appears that some regular shx fonts are not supported either (i.e. Architxt.shx). My office is in the practice of matching the Architects titleblock including fonts as closely as possible - with this issue it severly limits that practice. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Neither statement is true. I can create a text style based on Arial which is an Open TrueType font in Vista. I can also create a style based on Architxt.shx, which we have.

    RobertB,

Did AutoDesk change something with fonts, then. Because for some reason some of the .shx fonts and all of my true-type fonts do not come across in 2010 whereas they worked just fine in 2008. Have you seen or heard of this happing before? I made sure that I am mapped to the right folder and still no luck.

    Kevin,

First, TTF fonts must always be installed to %WinDir%\Fonts. It doesn't matter if they are located in some other folder on AutoCAD's search path. TTF fonts must be installed to the OS.

Autodesk has done nothing to font handling between 2008 and 2010.
