Red face What nVidia Driver do I have

    This drives me nuts.
When I first installed Revit 2010 I had driver issues so I updated my video driver and everything has worked out great. However, I downloaded and tried out about 6 different versions of the Quadro Drivers... now I need to roll it out to a few more stations and I don't know which one I have installed... should have taken notes.

When I check the properties of the driver in Windows, it says that the version is 6.14.11.7813

but the installers have version numbers like 176.04, 169.96, 162.65, etc.

Does anyone know of a cheat sheet which translates one to the other?

    Andre,

When open the nVidia control panel, there's an option called System Information. There, they call "Driver Version" the one like 179.85 and "File version" 7.15.11.7985. I think when you install the nVidia driver, let's say, 179.85, it extracts a bunch of files for windows components, which have their own version, thus the drivers being called 7.15.11.7985.

Check it out under your nVidia control panel.

nVidia in all their wisdom, takes the last five digits of the full version number and uses it as a shortcut.

So your 6.14.11.7813 (note what I've bolded) -- it becomes 178.13. The nasty buggers even move the decimal place around! The things you have to know on this planet...

That kind of knowledge can only be derived from years of painful experience!!
