    Unhappy Can't Create Local File

    Hi, I'm up against an issue I thought our IT dept. had resolved, but it's baaaaack! Out of 30+ users, it only affects me:

    When I create a new workshared central file, either from scratch or by a Detach From Central then saveas workflow, the "Create Local" box is grayed out for all other users - and the same for me for files created by the other users. The only files I can create a new local from are my own. Since I have several of my own projects, as well as needing to audit others, this is a major issue. If anyone has any insight it would be appreciated.

    1. Check your network path to the file. Make sure it is the exact same address as others.

    2. Check your network permissions/administrator rights. I think it's best to stay as a power user/ non-administrator.

    Ive seen this occur on networks where the General User Base had permissions to read/write/access ONLY to files where they were the original authors. For everyone else, the permissions dropped to read only. It was a permission inherited from a parent directory, in the case i recall having. Ten minutes and IT was able to track it down...
