    Default Set Affinity?

I was woundering if anyone knew of a way to permanently set affinity (CPU) or a quicker way then the ctrl+alt+delete, task manager, processes method. (see attachment)

Cause Revit only uses 1 (correct me if I'm wrong), what I would like to do is put it on 1 and move the rest of whats running on my machine to the others.

I guess a better question to ask first is should I worry about this, cause I'm only really doing it on the bigger jobs right now.

Back when I was blogging, I posted how to setup Revit to use 1 cpu and move everything to another cpu. You can find my blog post here:

Just noticed from your screenshot that you are using a quad cpu system. you will want to use the SMPSeesaw Pro found at the bottom of the page: http://www.mlin.net/SMPSeesaw.shtml. It has a little bit different interface, but it is still pretty easy to figure out how to move Revit to its own CPU(s).

Priority can be set with AutoHotKey's Process command.

    http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/commands/Process.htm

    E.g.:

    Run C:\Program Files\Revit Architecture 2010\Program\Revit.exe, , , NewPID ; Open Revit
Process, Priority, %NewPID%, High ; Set to High

Can also be done with the DOS Start command.

You need to start Revit before it will show up in the SMP Seesaw application. It only shows the currently running applications.

Same here, seesaw doesn't see the Revit (Or Autocad) 64 process. Odd. Still useful for setting multiple processes at once. I can use task manager for Revit I guess. This also happens w/ Seesaw Pro.
