Default populate sheetset manager with data from excel

I was poking around the AUGI forums looking for info on how to pass data from excel to the Sheet Set Manager.

I've got a certain amount of product, customer, project, and design specific data in excel that I'd like to pass to autocad.... avoid the manual data entry of looking at the data in excel and typing it into the sheetset manager.

I know I can pass the data to autocad in table and through data links, but I was wondering if I could send it straight to the sheet set manager somehow.

Thanks in advance to anybody that can help!

    Cheers,
    -Ethan (in San Fran)

    Hi,
It is possible but not out-of-the-box. Programming is needed. If you can consider help with programming, feel free to contact me.

Thumbs up Re: populate sheetset manager with data from excel

    Jimmy,

Thanks for the response.. I'm looking critically at what data I SHOULD be putting in the sheet set that needs to be shown in multiple places across our sheets, and what data should be linked in a different way. I know it's generally advised to not display the same data / info multiple places in plans.. (and doing so is exactly what has me using the sheet set to update it in multiple spots through fields)

If we end up wanting to pass info from excel directly to the sheet set manager, I'll be in touch, from what I've read online so far, it sounds like it takes a bit of VBA to accomplish.

    Cheers,
    Ethan
