Stair, railings and baluster

Im modelling a glass spiral Stair, which has pins to hold up the threads, im trying to make the pins sit flush under each thread and also central.

Ive modelled the pins as a generic model and nested it into a baluster family.
now i just cant seem to get the placement of the pins right within the Baluster placement settings

Has anyone got an idea where im going wrong ?
