Relinquish all in central

I'm working on a file in a central location. It's from another firm and i had been the only one working on it. Now other people are working on it and I'm having trouble relinquishing all. It says "You've made changes. Either Save to Central or discard local, re-open Central, and Relinquish All Mine again". How can I fix this? Thanks.

You need to do one of those two things.

If you dont want to save your changes, do what it says in the second option. File > Close > Do not save > Do not relinquish, then reopen the local, and relinquish.

There isn't a local file. I'm working on the 'central' file. Do I need to create a local? Thanks.

Whoops. Thats an interesting one, lol. Go File > Save As, and make a local. Then close it without SWC, and choose do not relinquish. Then try opening it again and relinquishing.

is there an option for creating a local file in the Save As dialog?

Save As will create a local, unless you specifically go under Options and tell it to make a central file.

Well i guess it did, but I get an error saying the links would be unloaded. And it's not linked to the 'central' file now.

What do you mean its not Linked to the central file? Once you do the save as, if you go to SWC, where does it say the central file is?

First thing after saving as, I 'm trying to change the worksets to editable and I'm getting this error.

it seems your local drive is not connected to your server where the central file is located. Make sure that the server where the central file stored is turned ON and your local file is connected to the server as well.
