Default BIM Standard and BIM Example Drawings Sharing

Hi all. Is there anywhere on here that people have shared their BIM standards?

I am particularly looking for a Revit Drawing Standard / Manual to use as a basis for our own model.

I would also like to have a look at an 'example project' that people have completed in Revit. We have been using Revit for some time, but only recently have we really scaled up our use to a large project. This has led to us figuring out our BIM standard as we go (not ideal). If someone could provide us with some example drawings, that would be awesome.

    Thanks for your help.

I'm only starting to blindly develop standards. I whole heartedly support a resource that shares standards.

I particularly would like to see completed buildings to understand routes and solutions to various problems in a real life situation: Forget tutorials, how do people really model in Revit?! The Revit tutorials seem to fit into an ideal world but don't tackle real issues such as finishing under a stairs etc.

    Luke,

Have you checked out the National BIM Standard?

There is also a great thread on these forums entitled Revit Template Sharing.

The FTP details allowing you to access some of these templates is at http://forums.augi.com/showpost.php?...7&postcount=79

However, the 'template' is only part of the BIM standard. I'm very interested in the actual nuts and bolts of how people educate their Revit users to maintain a good, simple set of standards.

Here are some links if you haven't already come across them. It would be nice if there was an all encompassing standard to start from but until there is, I would start with the first link:

http://www.engr.psu.edu/ae/cic/bimex/index.aspx - check out the awesome video to get the team jazzed!
http://www.wbdg.org/resources/cobie.php - A great way to start to define the I in BIM
http://www.csinet.org/Main-Menu-Cate...Group/BIM.aspx - BIM for the Specifier
http://buildingsmartalliance.org/ - Look for IFC, IFD, IDM, NBIMS to get a feel for the monumental amount of groundwork that is being done to make BIM work
http://www.gsa.gov/portal/content/105075 - biggest and most influential standard out there

Also besides ISU (which has done a very good job but is software biased) the State of Wisconsin, Army Corps of Engineers, Coast Guard, L.A. County Community College District, and Veteran Affairs all have BIM guidelines. I think Australia has also got a phase-1 BIM standard at a similiar level to the UK one.

    Enjoy!
