    Default Re: Lecture Hall (WIP)

    2c FWIW.

I think the the scene is heavily over lit even if it was a math lecture !
I think it needs toning down a fair bit (intensity) and softening at the same time.
Changing the colour of the fluros a small amount away from grey white will help to soften the harsh lighting, but the intensity is still screaming ....sorry, don't mean to be rude.

Its all an experiment anyway although, if you start working with IES lights regularly, that process can help reduce some of the obvious width of possibilities (otherwise you can be there for ever tweaking a million (non IES) options for little reward)
It can also help direct your attention to the issue of the lighting pattern, as much as focus your attention on colour and intensity.
This is where the IES lighting viewers and various pdf files on the web can be quite helpful as they show the pattern of light in a small graphic icon as well as all the tech data, while IES Viewers and editors can be useful if you want to also play around with some settings.
There are so many IES files around the web, that you do quickly put a stake in the ground for a few to work with for a while until you sort out your process and get what you want. Hope this is of some use.

    cheers
