Is there a command prompt batch converter to convert our 2009 Revit files over to 2010????

Yes, there is. And i *think* its on your computer if you already installed 2010. Place it in the root directory and double click two icons, and its off to the races.

    Upgrade.bat

it does come on the installation DVD. Not sure if it comes with the downloadable version.

Drop the upgrade.bat file in the directory you want to upgrade. It creates an upgrade.txt file. Drag and drop the TXT file onto a Revit icon and it will launch Revit and upgrade all the files in that directory.

    Cheers Scott.
I'll give it a-go......I hope it doesn't open Revit and load all files up to convert....

    I should clarify:

Put the upgrade.bat file in the directory you want to upgrade, AND double click the bat file to run it. It will then make a TXT file in that same directory.

Then drag and drop the TXT file on the Revit icon of the version you want to upgrade to. It will open Revit, and then open the first file, upgrading it. It then saves the file in the new version, which creates a .0001 backup of the original file. it then closes the file, and opens the next on the list, and repeats this until the list is complete.

If the upgrade fails at any one file, you can edit the TXT file, remove all the already processed revit files from the list, save the TXT file, and drag it once again onto the Revit icon.

It works well. Then there is another one called backupremover.bat that you can place in the directory and double click, and it will delete all of the .0001's as well.

Or just click the directory header to sort by date, and it will group all the .0001 backups together. Just Shift-select to get 'em all and begone with 'em.

Curious, what if there is a .00x backup file already in that directory? Will the batch file try to upgrade that one, too?

Deleting them manually certainly doesnt take that long, but the batch backup deleter is very close to instant, and with 2 entire Libraries of backup files to delete, its still tedious to do manually.

I dont remember what the upgrader does with existing backups, since i run the backup remover before and after.

I tried this, but I get an error 'Failed to open document' when I drag the generated txt file onto the Revit icon......
