    Default European Home

Attached is a rendering I created of a European home that I designed. Everything was modeled and rendered in ACA '09. I also used GIMP to add the background and to make some minor tweaks. Comments and suggestions are always welcome!

    Looks great!

Lots of shadows on the front face though.

    What's GIMP?

Thanks for the comments! The idea was to give the home a more "mature" looking environment. I think the shadows tend to give it a more realistic look as well. GIMP is a photoshop-like program that you can download for free. I use it a lot to add backgrounds and some artistic touches to my renders.

    Nice work as always.
Is that a stucco material on the exterior or more like a 3" lap siding. I can't quite tell. I'm thinking stucco, but the texture IMHO gets a little lost, unless you were going for the smooth finish. Personally, while this may not be the best "Sales" shot, I think the shadows add a look of realism that sometimes gets lost. It also show the shading effect trees will have on the house after they grow.
    Great Job.

Also the dormer of the left, the roof looks like it need a slightly bigger overhang or a thicker profile. The roof seems to get a little lost.
