    Unhappy Importing Fonts

I have looked at the help section within Revit and on this website and I am still lost. I am trying to import a font. I see it in the Data file within the Revit folder but I can't seem to open it or import it in or out of Revit. The directions of what to do with this file are sketchy.

Fonts in Revit are all TrueType-based fonts. So they need to be installed to the operating system's Fonts folder.

Revit doesn't have its own fonts like AutoCAD does. Revit just uses the Fonts that are installed for Windows. You typically install Windows fonts simply by dragging them into the C:\Windows\Fonts folder.
However, I have a sneaking suspicion that this is not what you want, either.
What's the file name of the font in your Data folder? Is it a TTF? If it is a .TTF or .OTF, you're OK.
If, however, you have a .SHX file, you won't be able to use it in Revit. SHX is a file format specific to AutoCAD and Revit won't recognize it.
