We are seeing a very small number of files that behave very strangly. This has happened to
1: a single user's local file, stored on the actual local drive The other two users had no problems with their Locals.
2: a non workset enabled project file stored on the desktop. The desktop is not redirected to a network drive.
3: a family file that was copied to the project folder on the network.
Once the file has "gone bad" we are unable to open the file in Revit, and also unable to delete the file. In case #1 a number of reboots finally resulted in being able to delete the file. In case #2 the file remains unusable and undeleteable a month later. In case #3 the file could be easily deleted via a machine without Revit installed. Also, in case #3 a copy of the file acted the same way. Lastly, in case #3 opening a folder that contained a "bad" file would also crash Windows Explorer. Again, no crash and no delete problems on a machine without Revit installed.
Anyone seen anything similar?
Thanks,
Gordon
