Default Importing AutoCAD DWG Details into Revit

It seems that imported AutoCAD details in Revit are not displayed exactly as they are from AutoCAD. My text are converted to a different style and my leaders are tweaked and positioned into a different location. Is there a way to correct this so they are displayed in Revit exactly how they are displayed in AutoCAD?

The text in AutoCAD is either Simplex or RomanS and seems to be substituted for another type of font when imported into Revit. How can these issues be fixed?

My best suggestion for you is to Not do it. Don't import Acad drawings. They just simply end up looking like junk. You can in cad print to a image format and insert that. Since it's an image file, you don't have to worry about the text and stuff.

Cool Re: Importing AutoCAD DWG Details into Revit

David's reply, at first seems too radical--but over time you will see that he is actually
    on the right track.

However, if you really need to do a bit of "hybrid" Acad and Revit, it is doable.

The font problem is that Revit only uses Windows TrueType fonts--and can not use
the old .shx fonts we all used in Cad.

So, you can substitute a True Type font in either cad and/ or Revit.

There have literally been hundreds of threads on this very subject, so please do a search.

    cheers.........

Its also imperitive that you have a Layer Import TXT file that is decently set up, or those details are going to plot like garbage, from Revit.

Its almost never worth it, in my very humble opinion. The time it takes to convert a detail to Revit lines, Revit text, revit dimensions, etc... Is time much better spent then tossing around the CAD files.
