Greetings everybody!
Is there any other solution to wipe out portion of the hatch without hiding automatic hatch and recreating boundary for sketch-based hatching?
Not necessarily. But if you can provide an advice at least for rectangular one, it will be good.
Couple of methods come to mind.
1. Simply sketch boundary of Wipeout and Fill, make the boundary Sketch Only if you don't want it to appear on drawing.
2. Create a Sketched Symbol as above (as many shapes as needed). advantage you can reuse
I did #1 as an irregular polygon and #2 as a circle. (see attached)
Thank you! I thought about filling area with white color and even tried it unsuccessfully. Now I know the reason - this only works for a part, but not for an assembly!
Any reason behind that inconsistency other than infamous Autodesk's inattention to details?
I'd like to report that issue as a bug. How can that be done?
I found that the way to create wipeout in assembly by picking particular part for creating the sketch. Anyway, it turned out to be utterly pointless since the wipeout does not go into either PDF or DWF file. In IDW you see the wipeout, in DWF or PDF you see hatch through it. Defeats the whole thing.
Please don't press me with your authority, JD. I know pretty well what I am saying and I've been doing quite a lot of proper everyday work with Inventor, including drawings. Actually, almost every part I create is coupled with a drawing. Autodesk is quite bad at polishing their products. See above.
