Default OpenGL vs. Hardware Acceleration and Shadow Settings

I recently upgraded my computer with a new video card: Radeon HD 4650. I find that when I use hardware acceleration, views with shadows come out extremely dark. When I switch back to OpenGL, the problem goes away. Unfortunately, the system becomes unbearably slow when using OpenGL. In fact, I think it was faster before I upgraded when I was using the integrated graphics card and OpenGL. It's almost as if the video card made things worse. Has anyone had experience with this? I'm still using XP with 4g of RAM.

What version of Revit are you using? And what version of the graphics driver? I have personally seen the Asus-branded Radeon 4650 work extremely well under Vista32.

I'm using 2010. Actually, it must have been the graphics driver. I updated it and everything looks great!
