Unhappy Getting pipework to show 3D in Navisworks from MEP 2010

    Hi guys,

Just wondered if any of you could advise me on how to get pipework to show in Navisworks Manage 2010 from MEP 2010, have tried installing the Object Enabler but it does not appear to work?

    Any ideas

    Thanks

What does the scene statistics report in Navisworks?

    Hi RobertB,

Well I have attached a shot of the scene statistics on so you can take a look, have tried loading the 2010 architecture/MEP object enabler from the autodesk site and altered the global options in Navis works but that does not seem to be working either. My system was initially saving DWG files in 2004 version so I altered the DWG/DXF/SAT to match in 'File Readers' but still no joy. I have also tried highlighting 'Use Standard ADT Configuration'? Still quite confused.

I've found a way to show 3D AMEP Piping in Navisworks but not 3D AMEP Plumbing.

    For AMEP Piping:

    1. Open the Construct (dwg) through Project Manager.
    2. On the Manage tab of the Ribbon, select Style Manager.
    3. Expand the Piping Objects folder.
    4. Expand the Pipe Systems Definitions
    5. Select the first Pipe System Definition
    6. Select the Single Line Graphics tab
    7. Uncheck Display pipe and inline/anchored components as single line displays
8, Uncheck Display pipe and inline/anchored components as graphical 1-line
    9. Repeat steps 7 & 8 for each Pipe System Definition
    10. Save construct.

All piping should now show as 3D objects in Navisworks.

Please note that Autodesk has Navisworks object enablers for AMEP entities. The OE is installed on my machine. Even so, I had to turn off single line displays as described above before AMEP HVAC Piping showed up in 3D in Navisworks.

Any help with getting AMEP 2010 Plumbing piping to import as 3D objects in Navisworks would be very welcome! Right now I'm thinking of defining new sets of HVAC Piping systems to represent plumbing systems.

    Hope this helps,

Joe is correct, it's insane that we still have to do this, here's my post on it from 3 years ago http://bimmanager.blogspot.com/2007/...vit.html#links

Thumbs up Re: Getting pipework to show 3D in Navisworks from MEP 2010

    Thanks guys!!

That has worked a treat on the piping system, they have now come up in the NWC file in Navisworks. Just as well because I had tried exporting as a 3D DWF file from MEP but it came over as one complete solid in Navisworks and I was unable to hide the walls and segments I wanted to get rid of.
