Annotation Symbol into family problem

I am having a problem with a family I am creating. I have a generic annotation symbol that I have loaded into a family (1), then I nest that family (1) into family (2) ... everything works fine EXCEPT when I load family (2) into a project. The Generic annotaion symbol does not show up in the plan view.

I am using Revit 2010.

Any solutions?

Would you post the family with the annotation symbol and the family into which you are trying to link the symbol? Easier to troubleshoot a problem with an example. Also, it would be helpful to understand your goal with the nested content rather than linking the annotation family directly. Will give it a try with the additional information.

I'm seeing the same thing in both 2010 and 2009. Not aware of any solution.
