Question AutoCAD 2010 in Windows 7 Won't Allow Network Navigation

We've got something weird going on. When one of our users tries to open files in AutoCAD, instead of being able to navigate to the correct drive or directory, he repeatedly gets bumped to his desktop. He was having a similar problem in other programs which a system restore by our IT department seemed to remedy. He can now use Windows Explorer to go to the file location and open it from there, but they remain inaccessible from inside AutoCAD. The workstation and setup is only a week old. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?

Is there a difference between accessing local drive/folders and server shares? If he can get to local, but has trouble on the network, check and see if the IT folk are using DFS anywhere.

Thanks for your response. It was a problem with both local and network drives. Rather than fully diagnose it IT just reimaged the machine and now it seems to be working properly.
