Default Data-Link Not keeping the Table Style

Stop me if you heard this one, We've been debating between data-linking tables and just using paste special. I like the ability that data link gives me to update the table w/out re-dropping the table over again. But for some reason when I do a data-link table through the paste special menu, it doesn't conform to the established Table Style. If I do a normal paste-special the format does default to the table style.

BTW, these are all AutoCAD Entities that I'm using, coming from excel.

Please let me know what you have come across and your preferences.

There is an option, when data-linking, to use the Excel formatting, or not.
