Default Can there be more than 1 figure prefix library?

I'd like to be able to use the same point codes in the field & the same dictionary file & use 2 different decription key & figure prefix files for different clients. Is this possible?

Set up your Prototypes to read the appropriate files and just select the client prototype when starting the project. You can do this in the Prototype manager, copy your existing protoype and then rename it to the client name and close Repeat for client #2. Then Open the Prototype Settings dialog and change the settings under each prototype for the appropriate figure libraries and any other settings they have specific for them.

    Thanks Mark.
That works for the description keys, but it still looks for the one fig_pref.db in C:\Program Files\Land Desktop R2\Data\Survey (we're in the process of upgrading to LD2005).
Is there a way to have more than 1 figure library? Is it different in LD2005?
The only way I can think of to get around this is to have 2 (or more) different dictionary files so that the numeric point codes would be changed to something slightly different for each client, & modify the fig_pref.db file accordingly.
I'm setting this up for a Geodimeter 600 w/numeric keypad because a friend has one for is business, but my boss is thinking of doing our own surveys, so this may change.
    Thanks for the help.

Have you tried opening the Protoype manager and select a prototype, then click OK, the in the next dialog, select Survey and in the right pane, select figure settings and see if you can change the path there?

Alternately use different Point Label styles
    or employ an XDREF
Or if the fig pref is only to establish layers
set a Layer translation template in your cad standards tools.

Mark, are you talking about LD 2005? We're in the process of upgrading, but we have to wait for the other offices to upgrade also.
In LD 2.1i, no other dialog comes up after picking the prototype.

In A2kI under Projects-Prototype Settings, select the prototype you want to modify and then click OK. You should get a dialog that looks like this.

Then you select Survey in the dropdown list and in the right pane, select the Figure Settings

Unfortunately, all that allows you to do is change the default figure layer.
I think I'll set up a different dictionary file & set up the fig_pref file to handle both clients. I don't think it would be too much more work than having multiple fig_pref files.
