2009 slow switching between drawings

Anyone else experiencing a lag when you have multiple drawings open in 2009 and you switch between them? It started happening this morning. I noticed I had a windows update this weekend, maybe that's the problem? CAD works fine in the drawing, but lags for about 10 seconds when I switch to another drawing in the same session. It only happens on the switch, then it goes back to normal. It's driving me nuts!

Actually, it's happening even when I open a drawing.

I found the problem. I had my materials palette open. I'm guessing it's because my materials are kept on the server, not locally. I guess it takes a second to load all the materials.

I am definitely having this problem, and the materials palette being on or off is immaterial. I have found the condition improves if the layer manager palette is off, but it’s still slower than earlier releases.

Yep, layer manager makes it very sluggish. I just leave mine off.

I have been fighting this problem for a while now, the layer manager was the cause of my slow problems, thanks for the advice!
