Default Running AutoCAD MEP in Virtual Machine

I know vanilla AutoCAD and some other software from Autodesk is supported running in a VM, but has anyone tried running AMEP/ACA or another vertical within a VM?

I am trying to gather some research on what it might take (hardware wise) to be able to do this, whether or not I would need to dedicate 4 or more GB RAM to the VM and if the video support is good enough to handle the vertical products or not.

I tried to install AMEP 2010 on an XP32 VM via Parallels4 on MacOSX allocating 2GB RAM to the VM, but obviously was very sluggish.

Any one else try this configuration?

The biggest issue you'll run into is the VM doesn't have access to the graphic card. So any 3D drawings will be sluggish.

The newest version of Parallels (version 5) might have better access from what I can gather on their website. They don't exactly say you have you graphic cards full power.

Otherwise you should try to at least provide the recommended amount of RAM according to the system requirements. Which happen to be 3GB.
