Where to find Hatch Patterns for download - Plus software used to create them

I need to know where I can download an extensive range of existing hatch patterns & which software can be used to create new ones?

Use any popular search engine and search for AUTOCAD HATCH PATTERNS.

Or use AutoCAD and create the patterns you desire.

Try this zip file out. It is a collection of free hatch patterns that I have collected throughout the years. They were downloaded from various AutoCAD shareware sites.

I almost forgot...AutoCAD has express tools with 2005, which among other cool stuff is something called super hatch. If you don't have 2005 you can still get different versions of express tools from Autodesk or support groups. At one time the express tools came with AutoCAD then it didn't and they wanted us to pay for it separately and now its back to being included with the software again. Depending on your version you might have to ask around to get a hold of it.

There are also tutorials on pattern definition with the aid of a text editor (and some patience):
