Default Data / Voice Outlets Category

I am developing some families for displaying data and voice points / outlets through a building.

What category do most people put these items under?

I have thought about placing them under the electrical fixtures category but not sure if this will allow enough flexibility for visibility / graphics manipulation.

In Revit 2010, and I believe in 2009, there is a Data Device Catagory (When you click show catagories from all disaplines). There is also a Telephone Devices catagory as well.

You can start the family with any template, and then change it to one of these catagories. Just make the change before you create any sub-object catagory items.

    Thanks Scott.

By sub-object items I take you mean and modelled elements?

Are there any adverse issue / problems to changing the category after all of the modelling is completed?

ie. Can I simply change my electrical category family into a data category?

Yup, there´s nothing wrong with that, except that you loose some subcategories along the way. Only thing that can´t be changed after building a family, is how it´s hosted, ie: wallhosted, floorhosted etc.
So be careful when picking a template, og just always use a non-hosted template, and then - when needed - nest that family into a hosted family type.
