Default Provide for the easy reconcilation of the positions of building pads in plan.

Summary: To make is easier to edit to reconcile the position of pads in plan.

Description: When there are two or more pads that overlap Revit kicks out an error message reminding the user that pads may not overlap. One must then quit sketching the new pad's boundaries (losing any time spent sketching it's boudaries to that point) to first locate the offending pad, and second determine if and which of that pads boundaries are conflicting with that which is intneded as new.

For example, if one places a pad one day, sets another on a second day, and then say tries to set one on the third day, forgetting the exact location of the previously set boundary edges, the amount of effort to locate the previously set boundaries can be large. Certainly larger than an experienced confident Revit user woud like.

I'm not sure how this tool would be implemented. Revit already provides information in the error message that allows you to identify the offending pad. Just expand the error dialogue and it should give you the ID of the element.
If that doesn't do it for you might I suggest that you create a plan view (high cut plane and infinite bottom) that you use for sketching all your pads? Turn off any unwanted geometry, maybe change the projection line color and weight of the pad to something that jumps off teh screen and you should be able to easily see when a pad overlaps another pad and avoid the error message.
Another tip I might offer; before exiting sketch mode to locate the offending pad, copy the sketch lines to your clipboard. You can then paste them aligned when you start sketching the new pad.
