Question Problem with wipeout command whem printing to PDF

I am using AutoCAD LT 2009.

Every time we use the wipeout command with text it prints fine when printing to paper. When we try to print to PDF, and print the PDF to paper, the "wipeout" area turns black and you can't read the text underneath. Basically, print CAD to paper- fine. Print CAD to PDF- looks fine on the screen. Print that PDF to paper- wipeouts turn black.

This has happened to several drawings, and several other people when printing our PDF files.

Any suggestions? Does this sound like a CAD problem or a PDF problem (layers?)

Talking Re: Problem with wipeout command whem printing to PDF

Ok, after looking through countless forum replies and trying different suggestions, I think I have it figured out, and I didn't have to download anything or do anything silly.

Two options: One, print to DWF first, then to PDF.

OR, you can make sure that the option in the print menu that says 'Plot paperspace Last' is UNCHECKED. That second option came straight out of the AutoCAD help menu.

I totally agree.. I hates me some wipeouts..
Give a man AutoCad, and he'll draw you a floor plan.
Give a man Revit and he'll build you a house.
Give Cadmama a couple of drinks and she'll have everyone singing Rockytop!

    Hello

    What printer do you use?
In fact, the Océ TDS 700 and TDS450 printer, take in charge now the wipe out, by the setting "wipe out optimization", and could normally print correctly the wipeout.

Cheryl, Have you verified that this second option really works? Could it be that simple? If so, many thanks!

Smile Re: Problem with wipeout command whem printing to PDF

I had this problem a while back and solved it by making all wipeouts using a new layer (that I called "WIPEOUT") that must have a TRUECOLOUR of 255,255,255 to ensure it prints OK in a PDF.

    Hope that helps

I use a full vertical version of 2009, and I had a similar issue that was resolved by installing all service pack updates.

    Hope this helps!
