Text and Mtext not working...

Has anyone ever come across a problem where the commands TEXT and MTEXT don't work? It let's you type the command and asks you for the start point or insertion point of the text but then it just quits and goes to the command line. It does chug for about 1.5 seconds first. This is only occuring in individual drawing files. The only way around this for the future of this file aside from blocking all the contents into another file (that I've found) is to copy text and then edit that.

Anyone else get this? Is there a fix?

check the search path for the fonts (options > files> search paths). do you have one? how many fonts are there? keep the number small and cad speeds up.

Fonts and speed aren't the issue. Again, this only happens on a couple of drawings and simply won't let me finish the TEXT and MTEXT commands once they're started. It just kicks back to the command line like nothing ever happened.
