Revit Architecture 2011 Video Preview and Release date

Well, it's that time of year. Today, Autodesk has lifted the embargo on the Revit 2011 product line.

It's amazing and they've fixed the ribbon.

I was just about to post a congrats to you for getting me on an early April Fool's Day joke. I could swear i followed your link shortly after you posted it and it said something like "Why are you looking here, 2011 isn't released yet!".

Alas, it seems that your website is fully updated now. I was able to view the video.....not as excited about the enhancements as i hoped to be. I am typically an Autodesk apologist so i will reserve judgement until i've checked out the release myself.

But come on, no mention of text editing enhancements or new site tools??? And while ribbon may be fixed as you say.....i think the community has reached the saturation point with UI enhancement talk. Wow.....the flames are going to start raging......

I'm interested to see what the impact of the large project team enhancements will be as this may have the greatest benefit to our office.

Nice to see that we finally have control over the elevation symbols. The properties palette looks to be very useful -- thank heavens i have two monitors.

Holding out hope that there is a lot more in this new package than what your first video shows.

*edit. missed it the first time through, but glad to see that bullets & numbering have been added. i for one won't miss the keynote schedule kludge for numbered note lists. the other documentation enhancements look to be helpful too.

I must say I'm impressed!
The list of improvements is extensive and for a change it specifies several user requested features...

Now the question is how much of it will actually work... as anticipated. After RAC2010 I'm not going to hold my breath...

But I can't wait to see it. And for the first time we are going to roll out 2011 to all of our machines as soon as it comes. We'll see what happens

Some very worthwhile new features in there. I like! I just pray stability is improved, as that's the only thing holding me back from 2010 as it stands.

No comment... other than... you just had to go there ... as factual as that statement sounds it's still an opinion. I'd say they made it more tolerable than it was before... to each their own

There are several blogs showing different new features, which gives me the impression that there are tons of small hidden improvement. I wonder if the Google maps preview has been removed. Last week a blogger posted a few images of this new feature where you can pin point the location of your building through google maps within Revit for solar studies.

I still hope to see some improvements within the current modeling tools like better site tools, stairs and ramps, profile and edge improvements in the massing families, custom curtain wall pattern creation, subdivision surface modeling tools, import profiles within the massing family and off course the same massing tools through out all families. So lets wait and see.

Overall, so far RAC 2011 seems to be quite solid.
