Default Editing Families - Changing Imperial to Metric

    Hi,

just wondering could anybody explain to me as to how you change inches and feet dimensions to be read as millimetres and metres when editing a family file to be incorporated into a project.

its just hard to convert the sizes of a project in millimetres when a family file is in imperial units

    thanks

    peter

When you've loaded a family into a project, and are editing the instance or type parameters, the units will be the same as the project units.

If you open the family itself, you can change the Length units in the Project Units settings, and then your dimensions in the family should read as mm.

Revit uses a real world size for everything unlike AutoCAD or 3DS which have to translate between scales and units. MM or IN is all the same.
