    Default Inventor Laptop Install

We are trying to install Inventor on a laptop that we will use both as part of our in-house netwrok and as a standalone machine that we can use on the road. This would include being able to create and place new and existing Content Center parts.
Our previous install worked while we were plugged into our company network just like all our CAD staff's machines. However, when we tried to use Content Center parts while not plugged into network, we get message akin to "Cannot find Content Center"
There must be a way to do this. What we think is the solution is to install as competely standalone (using default.ipj) and then create a separate project file (network.ipj) that has all the network pointers and switch between them depending on whether or not we are hooked up to the network. I recognize that we will have to sync our local Content Center folder with the Network CC folder.
Surely someone out there has encoutnered this need before. Any suggestions, a link to a knowledge base article, etc?

    Thanks!
    Mike

This isn't the issue of laptop related, but the Content Center path setting.
    You can try the following:
    1) Check the Content Center Path in
Options > File tab > Default Content Center Files
Change the path if it doesn't point to your local drive.
But by doing this you won't share your parts to your staffs.
    2) If the Path does direct to the server
Copy the Content Center Files in your server to your local drive before you disconnect to the network. - This is pain but you have not much to do unless you can log in the server remotely.

    Cheers.
