    Default Action recorder alternative?

I wanted to use the action recorder to fix the path name in two attachments common to many drawings, but does not work. I think it is because the sequence of commands opens the external references window, which must be considered to be a dialog box. (Help says action recorders do not work with dialog boxes.)

I am not a programmer. Can anyone suggest an alternative that would automate this task without having programming knowledge?

AutoCAD comes with a Reference Manager stand-alone tool to do precisely that. Look in your Start Menu under AutoCAD
