Question Creating custom elevation tags in RAC 2011

I am in the process of creating custom elevation tags and would like to know if anyone can tell me how to keep the parameters and the dividing line reading horizontal and with the detail number on top and the sheet number on bottom and have only the "pointer" rotate. I have attached a jpg of what I am currently getting. I would like all of the tags to look like 4/B-1 and have only the "pointer" rotate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't see an RAC Families guide anywhere and the "new" help in 2011 isn't as helpful as past versions.

    Thanks in advance!!

I dont belive you can get the pointer only to rotate - but you can put some visibility parameters into your "pointer" block so at least the detail number always goes to the top - heres mine which you can pull apart

Alex, thank you. I will take a look at yours to see how you created it. If that is true, not being able to achieve that really takes the wind out of the enthusiasm I had for the new "customizable" elevation tags.

You will still need to put 4 (or more) pointer objects in your elevation tag. Even though in your design you can only use one of them at a time. The elevation tag will use the closest pointer it can find. This won't keep the text and line perfectly straight, but it will stay closer to readable than the example you posted. Maybe for 2012 we will have the option to keep the inner part of the tag from rotating.

Honestly, we're not even going to bother changing our elevation tags, I don't think. We've been using the standard Revit circular ones for over 7 years now, so why change?

dont think we are either as the original ones never really bothered me, but I kind of feel bad about it. It's been such a big thing for so long i feel like I should actaully use the update

This is one I created to match our elevations from Autocad....
I especially like the ability to rotate the sheet label.

The frustrating part is this issue was highlighted to Autodesk very early in the process and yet its still got released half baked...

I am so sick of half baked tools in Revit that never seem to get finished...

I wish we could get away with not updating our elevation tags but some of the ones we've been using come out all messed up in 2011. I take it there is no way we can "open for editing" the upgraded tags? A bit annoying that we have to go and re-draw a couple of these tags but with reduced functionality (having the centre that rotates when you don't want it to).
