    Angry Trouble with Mapping Hoses

Okay fellas, I've got a problem and i'm not sure how to fix it. I've got some hoses that I need to texture, but the coordinates don't line up the way they should. I'm not sure if there's a way I can fix it without recreating the hoses, so here I am pleading for help. I cannot seem to get the arrow texture to align with each hose segment so it's fluid from one to the next. I converted them to an editable mesh and attached each segment to form one long hose, but they don't jive. Can anyone help me out right quick?

    Thanks in advance!

    Here's a simpler example.

    Phillip!

Okay, here's a solution that should work, but I'm not certain how this will affect your workflow (if animating):

I used a Sweep modifier over a simple spline. That material is set up with the arrow in the Diffuse Map channel and the Use Real-World Scale is checked with a height and width value set to circumference divided by 2. In the Sweep parameters I checked Gen. Mapping Coiords. and Rea-Word Map Size. Badda-boom!

Simple enough for even a hosehead like me!

Okay, I scrapped the hoses, but used them as a guide for Loyd's suggestion of a swept spline. A little more of a pain to animate, but a lot easier to apply a consistent material across the entire length of the hose, instead of trying to make the material line up with 15 different sections of Hose objects.

I think Hose objects have a lot of potential, but aren't worth it right now... If they could just give them the ability to attach additional hoses to the end and treat it as one object, it would be nearly perfect. I create way too many hoses to not have an efiicient workflow for them...

    Thanks for the help Loyd!
