opening dwg from internet

i was once able to open dwg from manufactures web pages. now when trying to open them i just get a blank internet explorer window. if dwg is in a zip folder i can open zip and then dwg opens. is there a setting in autocad that may have been changed which is not allowing me to open dwg from the internet or is there an internet security setting causing my problems?

Are you sure they were zipped before? Maybe they were dwg's before and they started zipping them recently. I don't know of anything that would allow you to open a dwg without first extracting it.
