    Default navisworks data tools

I hope there's someone out there who can help me with the issue.
i got Navis201164 bit and office 2010 64 bit beta on my machine. I followed the tutorials i found for data tools, but i can't seem to get the excel link to work. Is there anyoune out there working with data links that could post a sample link from navis2011 64 bit?
I attached screenshots of the settings, perhaps i'm just not typing the string right o.O

I'm not working with the 64 bit software, but I can say I have never gotten the XLS data linking to work properly.

The problem is in the right-hand side of the DataTools Link dialog. You have to manually add fields to the list of fields to display in the appropriate DataTools tab.

Essentially the workflow goes something like this:

    Set up a connection string.
Set up an SQL string that fetches fields.
Set up the tab and tell Navisworks how to display those fields (at present, just a choice of display name).

It's that last step you've missed. It's not quite the seamless workflow that I'd like, but it should get you going.

    Hope that helps,

    Jeff

    thank you =)
for some odd reason i thought navis will give me a list of all available fields and will let me select which ones i want to display(guess that's an idea for a feature request). this is perfect, thank you

Is it possible to bring in information from DWG's that were created in CADduct or CAD pipe?

Don't see why not, but honestly never tried it, using revit mep now.
with dwg's you should have a unique object ID which you should be able to link to.
