Default Crash when plotting 11x17 to HP LaserJet

This problem has been going on for years so I'm wondering if there's a solution yet. When printing an 11x17 (letter and legal sizes work fine) AutoCAD stops working and it has to be closed. In the past we've changed the printer drivers to older versions but this no longer works. Are the kind folks at Autodesk aware of this problem and, if so, is there a solution in the works?

The best way to make Autodesk aware of this is to submit a support request. Ideally, you would submit one for HP too. If you don't have the ability to submit a support request to Autodesk, have your reseller submit one.

Out of curiosity, what model & year is your 11x17 HP printer?

Have you tried using other programs to print to 11x17?

The 5200tn is the most problematic. If I remember correctly the problem started with the 5100 model and has something to do with the PCL6 printer language. This is an AutoCAD only problem and apparently Autodesk is already aware of it (based on what I've read in previous threads).

I am sorry to say, I am unable to print on 11x17 as well. This began when my machine was upgraded to Windows 7-64 bit. I was running AutoCad 2010, but just loaded 2011, hoping the 11x17 issue would be fixed. Sadly, I still cannot print on 11x17.

    Me too.
Can't print 11x17 to HP laser jets. However I can print to Canon's with their new driver.
So I have to make a Full Size PDF and print from there. That works.
It's a known issue, but I'm not sure if anyone's actually doing anything about it.
