Default migrate custom workspace to '11?

I'm about to install my upgrade to 2011. How can I migrate my custom workspace? TIA

I have found that workspaces do not "migrate" well. (I put that in quotes because I never use the migration tools but I do bring customization forward to new releases.) The problem with trying to reuse an old workspace is the new version CUI's usually have so many new/revised elements that it is better to manually recreate your workspace. I just print out a screen capture of my workspaces and manually set them back up and save them. Yeah it takes 20-30 minutes but it's only once a year.

Now I don't remember how to copy over a custom tool palette.

And how do I tell ACAD '11 where to look for the CTB files?

If these are vanilla AutoCAD tool palettes, right-click and export the tool palettes from the old version and import them in the new version.

    Right-click where?

I got it! That just saved me about a half-day's worth of work.

In my case, while in ACAD '10, with the palette I want to migrate open, I right-clicked, and clicked on 'Custom Palettes..'. This opened the Customize window. I right-clicked on the palette name in the left panel. I clicked on 'Export...'. I put the files on my desktop.

Then, in ACAD '11, I opened the same Customize window as I did before. I right-clicked on any of the existing palettes listed in the left panel, and clicked on 'Import...'. I found the file (with the extension .xtp), and clicked Open. Worked like a charm.
