Default One user showing multiple local files open

I have the Worksharing Monitor extension installed on my machine, and it works just fine with me and our other primary Revit user. On this current project, we've been having strange issues with objects disappearing, recircuiting, moving, etc. I discovered that one of our engineers had made a local file and had Revit open to look at panel schedules. All fine by me, but when I open the worksharing monitor now, it shows the engineer as having anywhere from 2 to 5 local files open at once, all under the same user name. I even deleted the local file that he made and made a new one, but we're still having issues. How could one user have multiple local files open when only one local file exists?

I've seen a single user shown as having two open but never thought twice about it, mainly because nothing bad happened to the file.

    That was for 2010.

Went to his computer and checked, only 1 Revit session open. 2010 MEP build 20090925_1815(x64).

We've seen this occur if the user had Revit crash on them and then reopened the same project. For some reason, the crash doesn't register as Revit actually closing, so it shows the user as being in the file twice. It hasn't caused any problems for us, but if you find it annoying you can have them close Revit properly, make sure no residual revit-related processes are running, and then enter the project again by creating a new local file. That has worked for us.

There may be a line on other users' computers' INI file that is setting their Revit username to the other user's name.

We've seen the same issue with crashes in 2010. With most programs, the program doesn't properly dispose of all resources unless closed correctly as with most programs. I must say with 2011's crash protection this seems to handle this issue pretty well as I havent seen or heard of this issue in the few 2011 projects we have so far.
