Default New to Revit... and frustrated

How do I add model kicks and saddles. Am I missing something? When I start drawing conduit my start offset and end offset (and yes for an electrical detailer that is confusing) but anyway it is greyed out. I can't edit it so if I am say 12' AFF and need to go up to 13'-6" AFF for 36" and then back down to 12' AFF how can I do that. How do I control the slope of my offset? What about a kick? I love a lot of the tools (particularly scheduling) but I can't seem to draw a conduit rack.

Been using Revit MEP (building Systems back when) since 07, STILL FRUSTRATED!!!!

No real answer but, you may try making your offsets in and elevation view

Good Luck and enjoy the journey for it will be a long time before we reach our destination.
