This is a Windows error....not a Revit error....

Seen this happen a lot....especially with Windows XP...Its a printer driver error. I had the same issue with some Xerox drivers that did not like Win 7 yet.

Just Google "Windows Cant open add printer Windows 7" and you will find a lot of sites that can help you. You'll need Admin access to your computer though.

In your Windows 7 start menu, type Print Spooler in the search box and see if anything comes up.

Yeah, you probably hosed your Print Spooler....else your IT Department has some services blocked/hidden...(could happen)

This KB is for XP....but should still apply for Win 7...

I have had this problem on 32bit and 64bit Windows 7 machines. It doesn't have to do with autocad but the compatability of Windows 7 and the shared printers on an older server (2003).

    Check this thread:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...3-9a16ce6a0b31

I added the reg entry a couple of weeks ago and have not had a problem since (finger crossed).

    Code:
    REG.EXE ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Printers" /v EnabledProtocols /d 6 /t REG_DWORD /f
