When i try to Save As current project file as a template, it's greyed out. Is there another way to to do this. I've tried copying local file and detaching from central but no luck.

You cannot save a project that has worksharing enabled back down to a regular project file....hence the reason you cannot save it as a template.

Thanks Michael. Your answer makes sense.
You could create a new, blank, completely empty template and then transfer the project standards.

Ah yes....the dreaded transfer project standards...
As I am creating the 2011 Template for our office I thought our original template would suffice, but it turned out to have a lot of not needed junk in it...So I have restarted a couple of times in the past week.
So if you do this, make sure to clean everything out first or be weary of what you transfer...

Thanks Matt, having tried that, I've come to realize what I am actually trying to do. We have several prototypical typed projects and my thoughts were to get everything together in a template for each prototype so all I have to do is change the project info. Enabling worksets was probably not the way to go.
So far I've been able to detach the latest and greatest, 'reload from' the arch and struct models and move on. Being prototypical you are asking, Why 'reload from' if everything is prototypical? Nothing is ever protypical, the arch is always adding something and I don't want to miss anything.

So I'm in my local file with an Arch and Struct linked and worksets enabled. I right click on a plan view and at the bottom is Save to new File. After the save, when I open and look at the browser I see the plan view I saved from, a 3D view and sections that were visible in the plan view I saved from. Both links were still there. When I went to collaborate> Worksets, I got a message saying I was about to enable worksharing! Then I went to Save As and was able to save project as a Template.
I do not plan on using the file as a template (for fear of the unknown) but thought that this is a way to get a project with worksharing back to a regular project. Has anyone else tried this?
