Default Communication between Revit and Navisworks

I am having a few small issues with files being exported out of Revit 2011 and brought into Navisworks 2010.

Any .dwg file exported from Revit and brought into Navisworks comes in with all kinds of crazy bright colors. How can I bring it in with the default colors?

Any .dwf file from Revit into Navis comes in with the axis inverted. Pressing the 'Align Z' gives me a front view rather than a top view. How can I get this to correct.

I'm sure these are solved with a simple check box in some settings I can't find. Please let me know.

Why don't you use the Navisworks exporter tool for Revit??

This is built to transfer colors, transparencies and correct co-ordinates, as well as properties of the objects from Revit.

I've been using the dwf lately, and prefer it to the nwc for now. I just "file units and transform" to get everything else to match it. For me it's rotate 90, -1, 0, 0.

    Hi

I am using the navis works exporter (2011 MEP - 2011NW) - And it wont bring the colours in no matter what I do... is it because the colurs are set by filter? do I need todo it another way?

Also - it refuses to export the vertical pipework.

My first go at it - but any advice welsome!

Had a similar issue with not exporting the vertical pipework. Check your Navisworks export settings are set to entire project, otherwise create a specific 3D view to export to Navisworks. Also check in you are set to fine detail and also check this within visibility graphics.

I have found the 3D view works well as you are able to turn off everything you do not want exported such as your linked files and can see all elements are displaying correctly. Check the view is set to fine and also within visibility graphics (fine or by view).
