    Default AutoCAD:Layer Freeze = Revit:???

In AutoCAD we have the" Layer Freeze" tool to turn to quickly turn off layers in referenced files.
Is there an equivalent function in Revit MEP which will allow us to turn off elements in linked in files we don't want to see?

Right click on what you want to turn off and go to "hide in view". You can select to turn off just that element, or the entire category.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but that is an unsatisfactory substitute since elements hidden in that manner will reappear the next time the model is opened.

For the OP, you may want to setup view templates and use those to control visibilty rather than an ad-hoc approach.

Some elements of the linked file are able to "right-click" and "hide-in-view".
But to select the individual items in a link - you need to hover your mouse over the element and use the "tab" key to cycle through available selections until you find what you want.

Also, once you have tab-selected an element in the link you can "right-click" and "override-graphics-in-view" by "category" which will take you to the item in the visibility graphics overrides where you can turn off the entire category IF you have your link "display settings" set to "custom"

Right-Click "hide-in-view" persists, but the "temporary-hide/ isolate" sunglasses button will reset.

You can also set up keyboard shortcuts to hide Elements or Hide Categories in a view. in linked files, (as already said here) use the TAB key until the element pre-highlights, click to select, then type VH (the default keyboard shortcut) to hide the element in the view. These changes do not reset when you reopen the project.

On the other hand, the temporary hide/isolate tool at the bottom of the Revit window in the view control bar does reset....because its temporary!
